STEMIE & Affiliate Events
Invention and entrepreneurship education events are held nationally all year long, with The STEMIE Coalition holds two major events each year of its own:
The National Invention Convention: This K-12 national competition is modeled after the highly successful Intel Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) and focuses on youth invention and entrepreneurship. Invitees are winners of underlying affiliate invention and entrepreneurship programs. NICEE 2016 and 2017 were held at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in Alexandria, Virginia. NICEE 2018, presented by United Technologies Corporation, is being held May 31-June 2 at The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation in Dearborn, Michigan. More info here.
The National Youth Invention and Entrepreneurship Program Organizers Summit: This is a summit of youth invention and entrepreneurship educational program organizers to share best practices, work on joint programs, meet interesting movers and shakers, and move the needle forward for youth programs in the U.S. The Summit, sponsored by The Lemelson Foundation, is held annually at The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation.
